The AudioPorn Central is a music site, but we are pretty crazy about the visual arts as well. So we started the AudioPorn Art Exhibition series. We
are introducing an artist to you every week, it is like a virtual
exhibition.

I saw RedandJonny in the BoingBoing first. It was about the time when the the APC BETA test period started and I contacted them immediately to team up for a virtual exhibition. But because of the moving and the DNS issues the show been delayed about two weeks. Their cute & amazing Young Stormtroopers in Love series just got bigger since then so this is one of those rare situations when the delay did no harm :) This 10 pictures are only a small preview of the series if you want to see the whole series you have to visit RedandJonny.

Interview with RedandJonny

- When and how did you started to make visual art?

We’ve
both been making art are whole lives.  Red has always made these books
of amazing collages.  She has a library of her own work going back to
early teens.  Jonny has always drawn , and even went to school for art
and has a piece of paper in a frame at his moms house to prove it. 
We’ve both just started taking photography more seriously since we were
married.  We bought our first Stormtrooper helmet on our
honeymoon…and have been taking the photo’s ever since.. It’ll be a
year in September. So theyre kinda like a chronicle of our first year
of marriage really..as stormtroopers.

- What was the hardest mission you did as stormtroopers? any crazy or weird story from behind the scenes :)

Most of the time we just go for it.. No
fear, No shame. We take the pictures to make each other laugh its like a game of I dare you.
   and neither of us has yet to back down.  Right up to pulling over
the car on the highway to shoot on hay bails. (Red’s idea)   
 
When we were shooting in the field with the hay bails, People were
driving past on the highway infront of us,and we’re waving. Getting
lots of funny looks and waves back.
Then one car, busts a U-turn come’s back.drives right into the field. 
  The guy gets out, and he’s got his phone in his hand.. and we were concerned  for a moment that maybe it was the Farmer who owned the land, and was here to  tell us to get off his dang hay bail or else!
But it wasn’t
He’s just some normal guy in driving down a country highway…and ask’s to take a picture of us with
his cell phone.  He then explains that he’s taking the picture to send to his dad… his dad would love it, he says
cuz His father has a whole stormtrooper outfit and go’s to parades dressed as a stormtrooper.
All of a sudden we did’nt feel that we were the weird one’s in
the conversation.  He was a really nice guy, wish we could remember his
name, but we’re bad with names. we talked for a bit and then he drove
off..
We hope he’s seen the pictures on the net.  It would be a good story to hear from his perspective.

- Do you have other creative activities beside of that? or any connections to music?
  We make little films to make each other laugh.

- Where can the people see your works?

For now,,,,Our Flickr page.  We’re really enjoying Being Young Stormtroopers in Love. We post new photo’s every weekend.

- Do you ever had and exhibition in the real life? when and where?

Our
first show together was at our wedding.  We framed some of our favorite
works.  Made poster size prints of some our favorite photographs.  Our
sketch books were on display in this huge room…It was great. 

- Who is your fave designer of visual artist?

We
both really like Harmony Korine.  We spend most of our time quoting his
films " Gummo" and "Julien Donkey Boy" while taking the photo’s. 
Love every word Chuck
Palahniuk’ writes. 
Other than that, we dont keep up on our contemporaries…we’re just to self absorbed at the moment.

- What is the project you are working on now?

We’re continuing with the Stormtroopers in Love photo’s.  So we’re brain storming idea’s right now. 
Red
always has a few books going at a time…We look like crazy people with
all the piles of chopped up magazines red leaves in her wake when she’s
collaging in the living room.
And Jonny writes and draws an un published  graphic novel about a Girl named Red.
