Londons own The Young Punx get the Norman Cook "seal of approval" & set to menace America with their top notch mash-ups & album release…

The Young Punx are an eccentric electro-eclectic collective of London-based electronic musicians, lead by the quirky multi-instrumentalist Hal Ritson. The band are now setting their sights Stateside and preparing to bring the sounds and visions by way of Ultra Records with a unique and diverse debut album.  Over the past few years the band has firmly established themselves as the new darlings of UK dance music, having been embraced by institutions such as BBC Radio 1, as well as being championed by avid supporters such as Pete Tong, Judge Jules and the one and only Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim - (who will no doubt be spinning  his pounding version of The Young Punx hit "You’ve Got To…" which he remixed for free, at Coachella this year!). This month alone, the lads have played shows in Shanghai, Moscow, Korea, Tokyo, UK, Germany and are about to venture to Australia for select dates.

The Young Punx: You’ve got to… (Norman Cook Remix)

Beyond rave reviews in the press, their cheeky pop culture mentality and freshly energized sound, now known as "Mashpop and punkstep" is the next step in the evolution of mashup music (where they’ve long been pioneers). The Young Punx fuse elements of house, electro, breaks and drum ‘n’ bass with an eclectic soundclash of popular culture references, rock, disco, 80s pop, classical and jazz to create something at once original and resolutely accessible.

Fresh from rocking Glastonbury, and a headline slot at Summersonic alongside Gwen Stefani, Black Eyed Peas and Klaxons in Japan, The Young Punx are set to show the States what they’re all about. Performed entirely by the band and their guests (no audio samples) along with a healthy but wry sense of humour and pop art sensibility, both the album and their live sets entice even the most reserved listeners to shake their romp and stomp their feet to the madness that is The Young Punx sonic offerings. Their  uplifting tongue in cheek, life-is-good approach to music includes tracks featuring the legendary UK shipping forecast from the BBC News and for all you hardcore Mighty Boosh fans out there, look out for a certain Naboo aka Michael Fielding aka Noel Fieldings brother in the video for the hilarious track "Rockall".

You may have actually already heard The Young Punx in the US without even knowing it. ‘Your Music Is Killing Me’ was featured on the US TV hit show Bionic Woman and they have other TV placements in the pipeline, reaffirming that these guys are more than capable of creating numerous standout anthems that already pique the interests of many-a-DJs and specialist radio shows across the globe.
