when I started the Simon Iddol thing
it was about joy and fun and creating music
creating, making music again
since I/we started the AudioPorn Central I had less and less time
and I was not making music anymomore
this whole APC issue reminds me of the preSimonIddol times
and its not the same why I started / created Simon Iddol
I decided to stop making the AudioPorn Central
but this is a very hard decision because the site is going well, I enjoyed to make it, I learned a lot from it, it was very useful and I can mention many many positive things
so I paused it now for a week
and lets start to think
what is the future of the AudioPorn Central?

you can buy the site and continue yourself
you can come up with other ideas and solutions

I think the fact that your site is running well shows that you and your site are needed urgently!
Besides any forum like GYBO there’s only less activity from mashers and mixers in the web.
A lot of DJ’s have their own site, but there are not much site like yours where people get a good overview on the scene; so

This site is Helluhcool! if you stop this Simon, its back to the grubby days of browsing dodgy adult sites for me…. So I guess what I’m sayin’ is if you can find it within yourself, please keep APC alive…. & save me from myself…
I can understand how running a website like APC can be time-consuming. Any project depending on only one person is doomed to failure (I know, I’ve worked on such projects in the past) because, one day or another, you won’t be able to devote as much time or energy as needed.
What you need (and it’s already started with the week-end stuff) is a team to make the APC live and if one of them is not in the mood for some reason, the others can keep it running.
The show must go on, long live the APC!
Why? Why? Why would you stop running your site? I look forward to coming here every day. On the weekend, when you don’t want to write, I wait. I wait and I wait. Until Monday. And what a shock! What a shock and a surprise! Today, I wake up. I come here. I look, and what do I see?

Or maybe you had too much on your mind this morning. Somehow, you feel upset or angry. But, this site is so good. So fun. If you take it away, I think you’ll find something is missing in your life, too. I think it will have a bad effect on your mood.
Maybe you should try some exercise or get a weekly appointment at a spa. Massage or acupuncture might help.
I hope you do the right thing and decide to keep this site up. Please.

As I wrote it in the post it’s a hard decision. I’ve was thinking about this for a while, but I’ve always found some xtra energy or xtra reason to carry on, so I did not bother the visitors with this. One thing is for sure, there is no other site like APC and as I wrote I learned a lot from making this site (new bands, music, sites, etc), it was/is a very good way to keep myself fresh and updated musicwise.But to make the APC in this level is almost like a dayjob now, a dayjob without being paid :D So if there won’t be some good solution for the future the APC will die. I wanna focus on music, on my music and if the things will happen as I plan and hope I won’t time at all for posting here.
This is very sad, because I LOVE APC and I think it deserves better and more. I’m open any open and positive solution, we will see, keep commenting, convincing thinking about the future of APC. I hope we will good solution.

Sad to hear the news. The unfortunate truth about blogs is that they are mostly thankless and a terrible source of income — even for the most “successful” ones. It’s entirely a labor of love.

Audioporn has become one of my most-visited sites over the past few months, as you do a superb job of cutting through the mounds of new mashups & music news and bringing us the cream. It will be a real shame to see the site go – hopefully someone equally devoted can take it on – but you have to do what’s right for you.
APC is great, i’d wish you’d continue… :-(
I can totally understand how you’d question such a time investment without getting any compensation. It’s sad for us readers, but totally normal. What about looking for additional contributors who would share the work and the passion?
