Khiasma – Dancing In Tongues mix [mp3 zSHARE]
This is a very very interesting story. Matt at the DUTTY ARTZ blog has a post about using foreign languages in mixes. He says: – it’s lame to use vocals in your music that are in a language you don’t really understand. – and he continues – In vocal music, especially rap, the vibe and energy of a tune is SO
MUCH about the lyrical content that putting vocals on tunes that you,
or perhaps more importantly a major chunk of your audience don’t
understand is just weird to me. I feel that you are using these people
and their words as an idea, or a reference or a signifier in a way
that’s totally disconnected from their artistic intentions. – What do you think? Me personally totally disagree with Matt, I made several mashups in different languages (french, japanese, hebrew, spanish) what I don’t understand and I got overwhelming responses from the original artists and ppl from those countries as well. But this post is not about me ;) As a respone to the DUTY ARTZ post MASALA made a mix by using songs from different countries with modern electronic beats. Great mix, interesting theme, what do you think about this
Oh , yeah. Khiasma made this mix live with Serato, no editing been made. Make sure to visit his post for the tracklisting and some individual track downloads.
