Frida Hyvönen – Dirty Dancing [Audio Porn FM]
Frida Hyvönen returns with a new album next week. One of the best tracks is "Dirty Dancing", a wonderful Phil Spector-esque song of childhood innoncence and love lost.
Now a chimney sweep, Frida’s Prince Charming from adolescence turns up at her doorstep one day to do his job. Which makes her start reminiscing their happier days together in the early days of the nineties. When they were dancing to Kylie and practicing almost like in the movie Dirty Dancing in a basement in Roberstfors, a little town in the north of Sweden.
For some reason, tho, in the chorus, she wails the melody to Unchained Melody, by the Rightehous Brothers (which wasn’t in Dirty Dancing, but Ghost). But it doesn’t really matter – we get the picture. And it’s lovely.
Haunting, passionate, sad – and full of bad English pronunciation. Bear with it – and you have a future classic on your hand.
