In these days of Oasis very unfortunate comeback album, I thought I’d try to draw your attention to another band extremely down with John, Paul, George and whatshisface – but with an entirely different approach. And subsequently an entirely different outcome.
The most noteworthy thing about Locksley is not perhaps their penchant for the mersey sound. Instead it is the fact that they’re from Brooklyn and play this kind of music… If you’re a fan of jaunty, happy-go-lucky, sixties-drenched pop, I’d say you’re in a for a serious treat. Here’s the title track from their new album, “Don’t make me wait”. Not necessarily the one that’s the most beatlesesque of the lot, but deffo one of the best on the brilliant album.

These guys rock! Per Amazon: This album received a 4/5 from Alternative Press in their December 2006 issue and led them to herald Locksley one of the best unsigned acts in the country. The band was honored as “one of the 25 best bands on MySpace” (out of 1700 nominated) by Rolling Stone and earlier the songs “She Does” and “Don’t Make Me Wait” were licensed for two Payless Shoes national television spots.
Yup, hopefully this re-release will take them all the way to the top. They sure deserve it.
