or just depressed to death
well, we had pretty much amazing month here on APC

#01 Peter Nalitch – The joy of simple melodies [link]
we always digg when someone starts from zero with a great idea
and wins everything in few months, Peter Natlitch is our hero
#02 Camille – Home Is Where It Hurts (David Rubato Version) [link]
the original and Rubato’s version are genius as well, this is more lush
#03 El Barto & Liam B – KRAFTWERK + MOVADO [link]
one of the best mashups of 2009
#04 DJ Prince – Hombre is in the groove [link]
the music been reconstructed from the original samples, amazing job

DOLLAR MAMBO izakrazysikkbastard, it’s official

the flava of the Aussie summer

this mash has so many APC faves innit

#01 Mando Diao – Dance with somebody [link]
Brilliant energy kick from Sweden’s finest rock’n'roll outfit. Deffo makes me wanna…erm… dance with somebody.
#02 Norwegian Recycling – A Twist Of Kanye [link]
An entirely new Norwegian Recycling emerges on this one. A clubby one casting aside his usual credo, delivering one of his interesting and therefore best mashes ever. And that’s not saying a little.
#03 El Barto & Liam B – Kraftwerk + Movado [link]
Everything these guys do leave me with a stupid smile on my face. This is no exception. Very bold Diplo-inspired genre mixing mash-up with one of my all-time fave tunes, Kraftwerk’s The Model.
#04 Found Sound Orchestra – Flat White [link]
Team9′s little side project, with a splendid little re-make of Carly Simon’s ‘You’re so vain’ and Nick Cave’s ’15 feet of pure white snow’
#05 team9 – Fujiya and the Foxes [link]
I didn’t entirely buy into Master 9′s MySplice ’08, but for a few lovely exceptions. But in his latest batch he proves why he’s one of the top bootleggers in the world.
#06 The Young Punx - Lola’s Ghost [link]
Extremely tight and well-produced mash-up from the fabulous Young Punx. One for the floor. Obviously.
#07 The Sound of Arrows – M.A.G.I.C. [link]
Few people would get away with yet another children’s choir. The S of A excel at it.
#08 16 bit – Ford Fiesta [link]
Just when you thought dubstep was turning into yesterday’s news, along comes 16 Bit in their Ford Fiesta and cheer up the entire genre.
#09 Faux Pas – Chasing waterfalls [link]
Brilliant new electro acquaintance. The Knife on happy pills.
#10 Rex The Dog – Bubblicious [link]
Samples Yazoo’s “Midnight” – in trademark Rex the Dog style. Need I say more??!!
Gingerzilla
#01 Phil Retrospector – Sleep Walking for Hours [link]
Easily my #1. An atmospheric gem from APC’s master of melancholy.
#02 Aggro1 – The Police vs. Blue Stahli [link]
More Police, more Blue Stahli more Aggro1…more, more, more!!!!!!!!!
#03 Norwegian Recycling – A Twist Of Kanye [link]
This is just a joy to listen too. No chorus, no verse just 7 minutes of mashup heaven.
#04 LeeDM101 – A Bad Kiss In Silence [link]
I never realised how cheesy the Bon Jovi song was until LeeDM turned him into Cher with the vocoder treatment. This should be an official release.
#05 Bobby Martini / LeeDM101 – Careless Duffy/Careless Steps [link]
I thought Mercy was a sublime song but since then the Welsh warbler has made me want to stick my head down the toilet. Until this. IMHO this surpasses both originals. A cracking laid back guilty pleasure.
#06 The Timelords/KLF – Doctorin’ the tardis
(Dada Life Guerilla Fart #8) [link]
Like a legion of Cybermen coming in and mashing up your stereo.
#07 The Young Punx – Lola’s Ghost (Deadmau5 vs Shapeshifters) [link]
Err… Deadmau5 dipped in a very seventies cheesy fondue. I get shivers just thinking about it.
#08 ToToM – Come Out in Bloom for a White Wedding [link]
Sometimes I can’t resist the urge to RAWK!
#09 DJ Schmolli – I’d Rather Want It All [link]
So cheesy it comes in slices, but great fun anyway. Extra brownie points for not using the usual suspects of Queen tracks.
#10 Panic Girl - Take a Chance [link]
APC’s electrofairy does it again. A song that deserves several spins to appreciate the intricacies woven within the soundscape.
Phil RetroSpector
#01 Plateau – moon [link]
profoundly ethereal
#02 team9 – Fujiya and the Foxes [link]
hypnotic & autonomous… in a good way
#03 Panic Girl – Take A Chance [link]
if I ever make a spaghetti western,
I want this on the soundtrack, simply haunting
#04 Found Sound Orchestra – Flat White [link]
probably the best Nick Cave collaboration ever
#05 Music Go Music – Warm In The Shadows [link]
more shake than a rattler’s tail
#06 ThE hOmOgEnIc ChAoS – The Price You Pay For The Black Hole Sun [link]
Tripped out, brooding, with devotchkas… need I say more
#07 Clivester – I Believe In The One I Love [link]
like losing your religion to disco
#08 Musicina Blender – Take Drake [link]
mash up goes 5/4
#09 The Young Punx – Lola’s Ghost [link]
anyone seen my glow-stick?
#10 Tara Busch – Motorcrash [link]
careful on those Rhodes now…
