Come Saturday [MP3]
Meet The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, a charming little energetic four piece noisy pop punk combo from Brooklyn, NY.
Their debut album is released this month and it's packed with highly infectious and brilliant jangly, fuzzy, pop melodies, half of which remind me of Belle & Sebastian, Camera Obscura, and their likes – albeit with distorted guitars, and the other half of shoegazy indie stuff like, say, My Bloody Valentine. Heck, at times it even gives me a serious Ramones vibe.
A while ago, the band shared a few tunes from their new album on their MySpace. Here's one of them – the first single: "Come Saturday ". A brilliant piece of jangly pop goodness.
There are way worse ways of introducing yourself to an audience. And I'm pretty sure you'll hear quite a lot of this charming little outfit in 2009.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are on their way up. Two weeks ago, nobody had even heard of the band – one killer debut (and a sweet Pitchfork review) later, they’re selling out shows at Kung Fu Necktie.
Well deserved, if you ask me. They did a mini-tour in Sweden last September and charmed everyone here. Especially Swedish bloggers, who immediately jumped on the bandwagon. As usual, I’m a bit late to the party… ;)
