    this shit is too long

  2. AAAA says:

I’ve only watched the first part, but it makes me appreciate music, and the specific types I like even more.

  3. Cutch says:

I’m suprised there’s nothing about odd time signatures in the “Rhythm” program. It’s something that happens quite often in Metal, which is argubly today’s most complex and technial genre, and there’s no mention of it at all!

  4. Will says:

I watched all four episodes. I was awed and amazed at the beauty they conveyed. Do yourself a favor and watch them all. You will be the better for it.

  5. James says:

I was disappointed with the section on rhythm. Sure the bare minimum is there, but in 48 minutes you shouldn’t be breezing over simple vs. complex subdivision. They barely wave their hand at it in the 2-against-3 section. There was nothing about changing time signatures either, which is the rhythmic quality that makes bands like Dream Theater stand out as musicians.

  6. tom says:

Part 3 wouldn’t finish for me.

  7. one other says:

“anyone who says x is the most complex genre is a pretentious douche”

Perfectly put my friend. If you think one type of music is more or less complex than another, you will never be a good musician. Just a pretender.

    Damn straight!

  8. Boris says:

Absolutely loved it. It is fascinating to learn the theory behind something that can shift our emotions so much like music. Great work.
