Wieden + Kennedy London and electro-funk outfit Chromeo have released
the world’s first musical SatNav voice for Nokia, and consequently the
world’s shortest album.
Last year, Wieden+Kennedy developed Own Voice, a new product feature
for Nokia’s SatNav service that lets people record friends and family
to be the guiding voice on their SatNav.
To encourage more people to record their own, Wieden + Kennedy
enlisted Chromeo to use the Own Voice app to record a mini-album
called Drive Time. There are 55 tracks featuring songs such as ‘Turn
Left’ and ‘Enter The Motorway,’ complete with Chromeo’s signature
Vocoder effects and synth styling.
