Brooklyn, New York artist and musician Jameson Proctor (aka JP1971) released MxNM LE for the launch of the Apple iPad App Store.  MxNM LE (for Mix N Match MIDI Live Edition) was designed to bring wireless touchscreen control to Ableton Live. It does so by sending industry standard MIDI control change messages over a local WiFI network; therefore it can be used with many other popular audio and MIDI applications as well with minimal configuration. MxNM LE offers a total of 135 buttons, pads, and sliders, making it a perfect companion for your laptop to perform and produce computer music.

MxNM LE is the first in a series of controllers Proctor plans to release for Appleʼs innovative tablet computing platform. Future releases will include a studio mixer controller and a DJ controller as well as MxNM, which will take the mix and match idea to its logical conclusion by offering the user a fully reconfigurable control surface.

Here is a new type of audio loop app for iPhone and iPod Touch. Trapcode ProLoop is a powerful and flexible loop player for professional musicians as well as hobbyists. Use it as a live electronic instrument by itself or as an addition to your other gear, or just play around with it and explore the possibilities! Voice Band is a new iPhone app that turns your voice into an instrument in real time. You sing into the iPhone, and it turns it into a guitar or a bass, synth, etc. The entire song in the video is created with just a voice singing into the iPhone.

Basically it’s a tricky vocoder, but sweet and fun!

Myna is available free at Aviary, yeah you’ve seen it right, it’s a browser-based audio editor. You can use it to remix music tracks and audio clips, apply sound effects and record your own voice or instrument. If you link it with your SoundCloud account, you will have a neat browser based workstation.
