Hockey‘s yet another interesting band from one of the hottest music spots on earth at the moment, Portland, Oregon. Last week their debut album, Mind Chaos, was released.

It arguably lands somewhere between The Strokes, The Arctic Monkeys, The Rapture and The Killers. Possibly you’ll catch a few Gang of Four vibes as well. Yes, the debut is rather eclectic. Still, it’s vibrant, jaunty, jangly new wave indie disco or something – and it makes me rather happy. At least in small doses.

They recently released a new single as well, Song Away, but here’s the album opener (and also their debut single), Too Fake, which I kinda OD:d on earlier this summer.
