these casette lamps by ooomydesign are brilliant
but the best thing is that they look quite easy to recreate them at home
so if you have enough cassettes and some courage make some
looks really fun
of course you can always go on the asey way and buy these

We love to support art here on APC, I’m sure you remember our last AudioPorn Art Exhibition by Sami Havia , who paints on casette.
Now we have more wicked tape art! Flickr user iri5 created a wicked series titled Ghost in the Machine. Each piece consists of an old cassette tape that’s ribbon has been removed to create a likeness of a well-known musician. From Jimi Hendrix to Jim Morrison, each piece brings the tape’s music to life through the ribbon portrait.
do you remember your first tape?
what was on it?
you still have it?

Some designers over at Transparent House have come up with a pretty clever way of recycling old cassette tapes. Not as clever as shooting them off your fence from the back porch, but still pretty clever. They’re making lamps. That’s right, lamps. You know, illumination devices. As you can see from the picture, they cast pretty cool shadows on the walls. [via geekologie]

Debut single for Sydney band Casette Kids by director/cinematographer Jan Reichle. Sweet song, nice vid.

The AudioPorn Central is a music site, but as you know it already we are pretty crazy about the visual arts as well. So we started the AudioPorn Art Exhibition series a while ago. We’ve introduced three artists to you already (Pheugoo, Wexfordgirl, RedandJonny) and because of many many things this virtual
exhibition series been stopped.
But last week somehow I found the site of Sami Havia and his works made me to restart the AudioPorn Art Exhibition series. So here you go, please welcome Sami and his amazing pictures painted on casettes.
Yes, on casettes!!!
Project C-90 is dedicated to cassette tapes. There you won’t find any kind of scientific research, technical data or things like that. They have a massive virtual collection already, if you have something which is not there, be something and send it to them! [via Create Digital Music]
