A US judge is forcing those guilty of “noise”related offences to listen to Barry Manilow as punishment. Judge Paul Sacco introduced the sentence after becoming fed up dealing with repeat offenders. Those who violate the town’s noise laws are required to listen to the judge’s choice of music at high volume for one hour, which includes Manilow classics, as well as the theme song from children’s television show Barney And Friends and other ‘uncool ‘ music.

A jury of seven men and five women was selected today for
music producer Phil Spector’s retrial. It’s more than a year after the legendary producer’s first trial ended in jury deadlock and a mistrial. The
eccentric recluse, who pioneered the symphonic Wall of Sound recording
technique in the 1960s, is accused of shooting dead B-movie actress Lana Clarkson at his Los Angeles mansion in
