So with Kanye taking every opportunity to eff up his image in public, Jay-Z having a hard time deciding what to do when he grows up, and Diddy doing whatever do wah diddy does these days, Lil Wayne seems to have the position as the world’s biggest hip hop/rap star pretty much wrapped up.

I’m not exactly into the genre and I kinda lost track after the early 80s. But lately I’ve been stumbling across a handful of exciting acts that deserve a little mention. Interestingly enough, they all hail from Canada… So let’s start with the most obvious one, probably the prime pretender to the throne.
