team9 sayz: – Just when you think you’ve used every classic track for a mash up, along come two that fit together so nicely its hard to separate them – for me at least. Discovering that these two tracks worked together is what keeps me making these ridiculous mash up things. The coolest bands of their time, for totally different reasons, seem to work so well in the mix they were almost made for each other. Simon’s Audioporn Central is even more of a reason to keep things going. A beacon in the ever expanding world of music blogs, Audioporn shows the kids how it should be done. Intuitive layout, great design and, most importantly, diverse and interesting content – APC covers all bases for music lovers. It vanished for a while and the net was a worse place for it. The highlight from the last two years was when it returned with a vengeance. Look forward to many more years….. -

YACHT is a hypnotizing band from my city of Portland, Oregon, and the first band on the West Coast to be signed to DFA Records. The gained a lot of visibility by touring with LCD Soundsystem, but I first caught their new single “Psychic City” thanks to APC. So, my gift to you is a simple but unique remix of it made specifically for you. Thanks for the leads on new music. -

Copycat sayz: – One of my absolute favorites during APC’s two-year existence is without a doubt Little Boots. We were quite early picking up La Heskey and pretty soon her many unofficial tunes, remixes and long mixes became a staple on APC. We simply worshipped her and adored her impeccable taste in music, exemplified with numerous quirky covers and a BRILLIANT posse of remixers and producers by her side. Some days we could even post several of them in a row – in fact, it became kind of an challenge to scout new Little Boots related tracks and post them first…
Finally, when the big official debut release arrived, the magic was gone. Her first single was bland – and that’s me being kind. The rest of the new material on the album didn’t really impress me either. So I started to lose interest and found other obsessions. But when it was time to decide on a track for the AudioPorn Central anniversary, I couldn’t really see myself remixing anyone else than Little Boots. And just to make it interesting, I went for the aforementioned crap single – albeit in a terrific, wistful 80s infused remix by the ever so brilliant Fred Falke. Here it is accompanied by Duran Duran’s classic “Girls on Film”. My first mashup in ages. I’d almost forgot how fun it is to make them…

Schmolli sayz: – So these are both the brand new singles of La Roux (“Bulletproof”) & Britney (“Radar”). Both do pop music but in a very different way. And since APC has been a great DJ Schmolli supporter I thought maybe mixing these two together would make a nice gift for the anniversary album. Happy birthday! -
