Fever Ray – Keep The Streets Empty For Me [mp3 RCRD LBL]
By now you’re probably familiar with Fever Ray , the solo project from Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife. Born in 2006 when the promotional duties for Silent Shout died down and Andersson had her second child, Fever Ray was a surprisingly useful creative outlet for Andersson when she didn’t think she’d need one, a place for her sparse, sleepwalkish ideas after the pregnancy. Flush with songs but with no wherewithal to make them whole, she turned to Knife mixing engineer Christoffer Berg, who helped piece together the project’s self-titled debut. After not-so-quietly building buzz for a few months, the record finally comes out on the 30th in Europe and yesterday in the States and Australia/New Zealand.

We already posted up the video of When I Grow Up , which is the upcoming single from Fever Ray. But hey look! Dan Lissvik of Studio made an outstanding remix, changing the dark and eerie original into a slice of light balearicpop piece with panflutes and children’s voices in the background.
There is no better way to start the weekend ;)
