I’m sure you remember The Young Punx VIP blogger week
in his first post Hal wrote about live mashups, performing mashups live
he shared us the story of  this Dizzee Rascal and Florence collab at The Brits
and here it is again

this must be encouraging for every producer out there
if the original artists love your mshup
thats the best thing what can happen with a mashupper
if they perfom it live in the front of thousands and thousands, that’s ….
…well mindblowing is not even close to describe the feeling

of course Hal is not a bedroom mashup producer
he is in The Young Punx
and he is also the Musical Director of Dizzee Rascal’s live shows
so he can realize projects like this a lot easier than most of us
but
if the video above is not inspiring for you
and you don’t feel the energy of the performance
than you have to consult your therapist ASAP

Freeland is set to release a remix compilation of his recent June release, Cope, in October – the track listing is below. In celebration of this release, Freeland is giving his fans the chance to design the official cover of this remix compilation, by “remixing’ the original cover art. Fans can submit their work, and entries will be featured on the Freeland website. The winning design will be personally selected by the band, and be made the official cover art for the upcoming remix compilation. A deluxe, limited edition of the album will be awarded to the winner as well.

Download the original album artwork in layer files HERE, create a your design and  submit your it by uploading to Flickr and tag with the words ‘FreelandRemixArtwork.’

The deadline for entry is September 10, 2009.

By agreeing to have your face painted blue – following the lead of Fatboy Slim, Jarvis, Little Boots and VV Brown – you can join the growing global movement of people determined to take action on climate change.
