I’m not a huge country fan
and I think country hip hop dancing is not taking me closer to love it

we found this wicked vending machine in Berlin at the weekend
yupp, you can buy rappers for 50 cent
in 1,5 EURs you can have your own hip hop band ;)
I wonder why this is not an official 50 Cent merchandising method
you know 50 Cent for 50 cent
seem logical to me

Here’s our last installment in our little Canadian hip hop/rap exposé, but certainly not the least. I kinda saved the best for last…
Scotty Dynamo is a 19 year old producer, rapper AND actor from Toronto, Canada. His style is actually not that far from The Girls Can Hear Us. In fact, when I heard him first, I thought it was a new track from the Ontario boys. Luckily, it wasn’t. So I got another set of songs to fall in love with.
Scotty also combines electronic dance floor friendly beats, with witty and poignant lyrics. But maybe even more so. Most of his tunes are full of analogue goodness. Some of them will make you wonder whether you’ve been teleported back to the 80s. On the other hand, his style sounds so very much “today” that you cannot help thinking that surely this must be the perfect soundtrack to the late noughties…
Despite his age, Scotty’s been around a while and has managed to secure a pretty decent online following and fan base. He has released his first EP (check iTunes or Amazon) – and I’m pretty sure we’ll hear from him again. Soon.
Until then, here’s “Make it right” from his debut-EP. Enjoy!
SPECIAL BONUS:
Scotty was kind enough to give us this stunning electro remake/remix/mash-up/wotsit as well, containing elements from Benny Benassi and Ace of Base and some wicked rhymes from the man himself. This is a definite must, folks! [MP3]

So let’s continue our little Canadian hip hop odyssey. Edmond Huszar & Will Steep from Ontario kind of rekindled my interest in rap and hip hop earlier this year. I was surfing to and fro, minding my own business, when all of a sudden I stumbled across their band The Girls Can Hear Us and caught up with this killer tune.
Having no expectations at all really – like I’ve said before, I lost interest in the early 80s – I started to listen. And it started in trademark hip hop style, with a few tentative beats and some slick quick rapping. Just when I was about to turn it off, the voice turned urgent, almost pleading. Together with an elegantly building piano, it caught my attention and enchanted me enough to buy the tune another few seconds. Well invested time, I must say.
Becasue all of a sudden I’m caught in an electro tinged banger that entirely blew me away and had me bringing out my air synth in no time… Magic. What do you think?

hip hop producer klippstone just sent us his latest tune J2N (A Journey To Nowhere) – the first one of his space hop project
the story is told via samples taken from various space related movies and will be continued via the songs to follow

Nalepa – Monday (The Glitch Mob Remix)
[mp3 AudioPorn FM]
The Glitch Mob is a four man musical collaboration with roots from San Francisco and Los Angeles. Taking influences from hip-hop, experimental, and dance genres, The Glitch Mob have crafted their own form of futuristic dance floor hip-hop that has been "slaying" audiences world wide. On their live sets with four performers on stage at once they interact almost like a jazz combo, each taking the lead at intuitive moments, interweaving their own sounds, and remixing everything on the fly. EdIT, Boreta, Kraddy and Ooah – the members of The Glitch Mob - have individually released music on their own imprint Glitch Mob Unlimited which is a subsidiary of Los Angeles' Alpha Pup Records. So here we go with their remix of Nalepas Monday – turn it loud!!
