A short time ago, Imogen Heap took a few days out from making her new album to write a track that was supposed to feature at the end of TV programme. She wrote the song and recorded all the vocals, leaving the music for the composer who was writing the rest of the score so she could get on with her much anticipated new album. For one reason or another the song wasn’t used and so the track never got completed. But their loss is Twestival ’s gain as she’s excitedly donated the aforementioned vocals for The Song That Never Was experiment.

Making great music is all about teaming up with the right people – singers, players, co-writers – people you have chemistry with and whose ideas you respect. I always look for people that come up with ideas that complement my music, ideas I wouldn’t have thought of on my own – or people that can play an instrument with greater skill. This mix of good ideas and performance is where the magic happens.. that and great gear and tons of coffee. Here’s a short wishlist of collaborators i’d like to team up with.. maybe they’ll stumble on to this blog post and get inspired

Imogen Heap – Amazing vocalist – truly unique ideas, and a great sense for harmony.
Ray Lamontagne – Another great singer who really infuses his song with emotion and powerful delivery.
Rocco Deluca – Great guitar player and songwriter who does some insane stuff with his resonator guitars.
Chris Thile – Formerly of Nickel Creek. Masterful mandolin player that could really do some damage in the electronic world
