So, let’s have a chat with MB DISCO label boss, Martin Brodin, also the founder of Deeplay Music. With this label he wanted to go back to his Disco roots. Disco Music has always been in Martin’s blood and some 18 months ago he felt it was time to pay tribute to it. So how has he done it? The answer is very simple, mix up the old disco feeling with modern sound. Call it Nu-Disco, Post-Disco, Disco for 2010s or whatever you see fit, for Martin it’s just about the feeling for what he believes is Disco.
- The Italian Connection – tell us, how did you come up with the idea?
It all started with Michael Suiter, one part of L.I.S. sent me a remix they done of E=MC2 some time ago. I simply fell in love with it and one thing lead to the other. His friend in Italy Gianluca Pandullo (I-Robots), is well connected to all the old disco heads there so he started to check if they’re interested in participating in the project. Said and done, everyone jumped on it. So initially we called it the Italian Connection as a project name, but we liked it so much so it became the official name for it.
