Apollo Zero – When Radioactive Doves Cry
[mp3 Fairtilizer]
Here's one of those tracks that you simply know you gonna love just by reading its title. And yup, this one's just as good as it implies on the tin. Our good friend Apollo Zero is back with a stunning smash that'll have you up pogoing in no time.
Listen to the ingredients – Prince "When Doves Cry", Kraftwerk "Radio Activity" and Pet Shop Boys "Minimal". Ah, you're up dancing already. Sorry. Carry on. I know I will.
Pet Shop Boys – Love etc. [stream AudioPorn FM]
What a way to start a new week here on APC! Pet Shop Boys
are back! The new album Yes is due later this year (end of March) and it'll see the boys rub shoulders with good ol' Johnny Marr himself, who apparently co-wrote several of the tunes on the new album.
I've no idea why I haven't heard of this before. My gut reaction was that it's fake. But checking with a few reliable sources, it seems legit. And yup, you'll recognise a few trademark PSB schticks, but it hurts my heart to say that they're not up there with the best "Kids" remixes – Soulwax rules – or even the best PSB remixes.
Still, even a semi-good PSB remix is better than your average remix. And "Kids" is absolutely one of the contenders to the "Best song of the year" award in my book. So let's do this anyway. Go ahead. Enjoy.

Synth pop legends Pet Shop Boys will release a new single later this month on Kompakt Pop.
The track, called "I’m in Love with a German Film Star," isn’t actually by the duo. Instead, it’s produced by them with the artist and filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood taking top billing. Taylor-Wood, who has worked with the PSB’s before on covers of Serge Gainsbourg and Donna Summer, has chosen an early ’80s post-punk song by The Passions this time around.
We haven’t heard the track quite yet, but we’ve been naturally assured that the original and symphonic versions that Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have undertaken are grand, with remixes by Gui Boratto, Jürgen Paape and Mark Reeder not being that shabby either. [read more @ RA]
The KLEF – You shook me [MP3 Mediafire]
This one’s just insane. The KLEF took like a handful of MY favorite tracks and turned them into a mash-up that will definitely leave a smile on your face. It sure did so on mine. Check it out. Each instrument comes from a different source. Full tracklist after the jump.
22 years ago this week Pet Shop Boys released Love Comes Quickly.
It still sounds lovely.
