This time believe the hype! ;) TheHype.FM is an example of the evolution of radio. As taste making and the music scene gradually become dominated by music blogs and technology, it only makes sense to have a place where the top music blogs can come and provide their program in a live show format for the world to hear. They are legit & fully licenced, meaning that all signed artists played on the station receive royalties each time their tracks being played (so send them music!). In addition, unlike traditional radio where listeners are not encouraged to participate other than the occasional call-in, TheHype.FM promotes a fully interactive experience where in addition to their normal programming they will feature unsigned artists, remix contests, listener voted charts, interactive media, and much more to come in the future.
Morrissey is to present a one-off radio show for US station KCRW next week.
The show, which has been pre-recorded, airs on the Morning Becomes Eclectic programme on August 29. It will be available to listen to on Kcrw.com .
While most bands appearing on the show choose to perform a short studio set, Morrissey has limited his appearance to chatting only.
Artists who are apparently set appear in the former The Smiths singer’s playlist include The Courteeners, Sparks, the Buzzcocks and Noël Coward. [via NME]

The Tivoli Audio NetWorks internet radio can find any Internet radio stations from any location in the world in its native language, and in real time. This radio can stream MP3, WMA, and Real Audio music files stored on USB devices via a USB port or from PCs through a wireless (WiFi) or Ethernet connection. The NetWorks radio also features a virtual analog clock, dual independent alarms with sleep timer and snooze function, compact remote control, full-range 3.5” magnetically shielded driver and easy-to-read four-line by 16 character back-lighted display. Tivoli’s $600 NetWorks radio is available with optional stereo speaker at about $100. The radio can also be expanded with an optional subwoofer and CD player currently in the Tivoli line at $159 and $299, respectively.
Like a precision calliper tool, 08 Radio by Mikael Silvanto lets you precisely find the station you want by sliding the entire radio unit up and down the scale. It’s a minor improvement and may irk some who prefer a dial but functions aside, it is nice to look at just as a stand-alone piece.
