CitySounds.fm lets you listen to the latest music from cities around the world. The most active cities and the list is constantly changing as new music is being created. Tracks and city information is fetched from the SoundCloud API – updated in real time as new tracks roll into SoundCloud. Additionally, images for each city are fetched from Flickr. Really nice! Yes, you heard right, SoundCloud will go public next Friday night when the clock strikes midnight. This means that your public tracks will be accessible from the outside world and that your friends will be able to sign up for an account without an invite!
You know how much we love SoundCloud. They are simply the Flickr of music. Since we first posted about them we got many many requests from from APC readers to send SoundCloud invites, but we runned out of them so fast. Here is the great news!!! If you read music blogs everyday you must heard about the SoundCloud in the last couple of days, weeks. This is a great new startup from Berlin, Germany. They do the same what the Flickr does with pictures or what the YouTube does with videos. They help you to share. Awesome, right? I guess we all had problems with sending music files especially wavs or bigger mp3′s. Now the SoundCloud is the answer. You can upload files, share them with the world or with only one person. There are some social network features, but not so annoying and the very best part is commenting the parts of the track, by puttingmarkers on the waveformr (something like commenting parts of the picture in Flickr). So we are jeaous and extremely excited at the same time, we wish long long life and many happy users for the SoundCloud.
BTW you might noticed the Dropbox in the sidebar, thats an another nice SoundCloud feature! Great, isn’t it? Here more cool features:
