This latest 60 minute mix showcases some of my favorite sounds of the moment – music that I am hammering in the clubs, and I love both on a musical level and for sheer dancefloor impact. Almost all the tracks are mixed harmonically, thanks to an amazing piece of software called Mixed In Key which tags your music with the key and tempo for each song, and gives you ideas for songs that mix together well.

The mix starts out with some filthy electro-house and soon switches into progressive territory with Deadmau5 – listen to the combination of the Deadmau5 track and the Stupid Fresh remix – the tracks speak to each other in a really interesting call and response manner with the melodic and rhythmic elements.

For me, a good DJ mix needs to combine a few different splinter genres and mix things up a bit., maneuvering through peaks and valleys. however, in this mix i went fairly heavy into the minimal progressive house that’s been my favorite sound of the moment – guys like Style of Eye. Almost all of my favorite producers of the moment on are on this mix, like D.O.N.S. and EDX. What’s up with all the mysterious acronyms anyway? Enjoy the mix and play it loud!

As you know it already we are starting a brand new thinggy next week called VIP Blogger Series. We will invite APC fave artists, celebrities to blog for a week about music, culture, arts and/or technology. They will release exclusive articles/posts on APC every day of they guest week any by the end of the week you can meet with the current VIP Guest via a special LIVE CHAT fan interview. As you might noticed we’ve created a new category for this project, so the entire VIP Blogger Series will be easy to find in the future as well. According to our plans we will do this session every month.

As you know it already our first guest is Morgan Page !!! If you haven’t lived in a cave in the last couple of years and you like electronic dance music I’m sure you are pretty excited now. Morgan made remixes for artists like Ashlee Simpson, Stevie Nicks, Nelly Furtado, Ultra Nate, Dolores O’Riordan, Korn, Tegan & Sara, he scored three Billboard No1′s and as we reported earlier, Morgan will remix Madonna’s new single, Miles Away. Of course we can talk about his albums and DJ sets and many other things, but you know these things already, right?

Meat Beat Manifesto – Radio Babylon

Meat Beat Manifesto and breaks DJ/producer Lee Coombs
came up around the same time in London, both making big room sounds
perfect for banging one’s head or jacking one’s body. But it wasn’t
until now that their two sounds joined forces in the form of Coombs’
VIP mix of the 1990 Meat Beat Manifesto track "Radio Babylon." A long
time Coombs favorite rerubbed for his own personal use, "Radio Babylon"
retains the 90s style vocal drops and murky drum breaks but amps up the
synth sound to create raving friction. Just like his huge outdoor sets
at events like Burning Man, this updated classic could have whole
fields of freaking dancers hopping around.
