Dragontape is a wicked new webapp and a very promising startup. It enables you to create mixtapes of your favorite online videos, so you can watch them as a continuous show. The tapes you create are accessed through a single URL, so you can easily share with friends or embed them in a webpage. The source clips remain in their original locations, Dragontape simply remembers where to find them.

YouTube created its own music playlist maker, the YouTube Music Discovery Project. It’s currently on  TestTube (YouTube’s labs) and basically its a searchbox when you can enter artist names, hit the disco button and you can organise video playlists from the results. The searching is not the most sophisticated yet,  the system is not recognizing many artists, but quite fun to make some tests with it.

… last Friday OK Go premiered a stunt-heavy music video for the new single This Too Shall Pass, featuring a cast of 200 — including the Notre Dame marching band — who perform the tune in one take, with some fun surprises along the way. Alas, though, the video has so far only acquired about 10,500 views, which is surely disappointing to the band, yet easily explained: The video is geoblocked by Capitol Records in many international locations, and embedding in all regions has been disabled…

how do you wanna sell something , when you don’t allow the fans to see it?
there are zillion creative ways to spread the world about great bands
but not letting the fans to get what they want is a new way to get hype
seems to work BTW, cos everybody is talking about this now
congrats to everyone involved

the next step should be this
- upload any video, really anything, nobody will see it anyway
- geoban it, but allow Antarctica
- post images of happy penguins to the complaining fans

your new hype is ready
or you can say that the video been left in a balloon, but it floated away

than you know that I’m kindda addicted to music tweeting via Blip.fm
I think it’s a pretty good way to share and find music
it’s always fun to stumbleupon a long forgotten fave
or something new and unheard

I just discovered that Blip.fm added YouTube videos to its music feed
so anything what’s on YouTube can be blipped from now on
just type video to the searchbox with the name of the artist you look for
pretty kool move, isn’t it?
